Generosity

Generosity is not charity.

Charity is one-way, depleting, and designed so the giver burns out and the receiver stays in place. The flaw is structural, not personal.

There is another kind. Circular generosity — the jar that fills because everyone puts something in — has been running in forests, oceans, kitchens, and lending circles for longer than any human institution. The direction of giving decides everything.
